Microsoft has attributed Delta Air Lines’ weeklong string of cancellations last month to the airline’s outdated technology, which caused it to recover more slowly from a global tech outage than its competitors. Microsoft claimed that Delta declined assistance after the CrowdStrike bug led to disruptions on Windows devices. Delta CEO Ed Bastian blamed CrowdStrike for the computer problems, citing a $500 million cost to the airline. CrowdStrike responded by stating that Delta had refused offered help. Microsoft joined the fray by stating that it had offered assistance to Delta, but the airline did not respond. Delta has not yet taken legal action against Microsoft or CrowdStrike.
